Favourite Fashion Picks | Summer 2013

Helloo!

So now summer's nearly coming to an end so I thought I'd share some of my favourite outfits for summer time.

Excuse the headless photos haha but I just wanted to show you the outfits :)

Necklace - Topshop
Watch - DKNY
Top - Zara
Shorts - Topshop
Sandals - Topshop
Nail Varnish - Barry M Jelly in 'Passion fruit'
I really like this oversized crop t-shirt as its quite simple but you can dress it up with a necklace like I've done - I think this is a good day time outfit for whatever your wanting to do as its quite casual but also nice with the necklace.
Top - Vintage (from a small vintage shop)
Shorts - Vintage Levi
Sandals - Topshop
I really like this cute little shirt which was such a good buy! I think it looks really cute tucked into my high waisted levi's, it also looks cute under a jumper as the collar has some really nice lace detailing on it. I think this is also a good day time outfit for a warm day but it's also a bit more dressy because of the shirt.
Playsuit - Topshop
Wedges - New look
I love playsuits! I love this cute one from the love collection in topshop - the colour and the fit! It looks really nice with flats or heels, I've gone for these tan wedges for a slightly more dressy look but still summery. Although I think a playsuit is great for day time or more dressy evening looks.
Necklace - Topshop
Top - American Apparel
Shorts - Zara
Wedges - New look

This last outfit I think is really good for a summer party or evening as the shorts and wedges dress it up a bit and I also really love this floaty top because you can dress it up or down.

What have you been loving this summer?
What was your favourite thing from these outfits?

Thanks for reading guys,
I can't believe summer's nearly over, it makes me so sad that I won't be able to wear much of this now!

A few days away

Hey guys!

I can't believe summer is nearly over.. It's gone crazily quick!

So every year my family and I take a trip down to Cornwall towards the end of the holidays, my favourite place to spend a few days in the last few weeks. I love going, it brings back so many memories from when we used to go when I was teeny tiny.

We stayed in a small fishing town called Port Isaac with some friends who have a house there, which gets very busy in summer - its such a cute town with lovely shops and a few nice places to eat.

This photo was taken from the house we stayed in - such a lovely view :)

This is "The Harbour Kitchen" - it was really cute with really nice things to eat in it! (I would recommend the brownie!)

Every year we do a walk from Daymer Bay to Rock - I love this walk, we play catch on the way and it's just such a nice thing to do.

If you do the walk or stay at Rock, go to the Blue Tomato Cafe, we go and get a milkshake when we've finished our walk - they are seriously good! Especially the malteaser ones!! Rock is really cute and has some really nice shops as well.

Rock beach

We always go to Polzeath beach for the day which I love. It's a very busy beach - so not the best if you want to relax, but its really great for sandcastles and surfing, we spent over an hour body boarding in the sea, its great fun! I would definitely recommend getting a hot chocolate and bacon roll from Galion beach cafe which is what we did for breakfast - so good!!

This is Port Isaac on the last day, it's such a pretty town.

I really love it in Cornwall, its one of my favourite places, such a nice place to have some fun, unwind & relax.

Have any of you guys ever visited Cornwall? Where did you go?

Thank-You for reading!

My African Adventures

Hellooo there :)

So I just got back from two weeks in Kenya, Africa with my family. For the most part, I loved it -  I have never been a holiday like it before so it was a completely new experience to the sunbathing by the pool and beach usual holiday (although there were elements of that!). We did 7 days safari staying in 3 different hotels in different parts, 1 day travelling from the airport to the Mara and 1 day meeting some giraffes & baby elephants in Nairobi and we spent 3 full days at the coast, leaving 2 days for travelling.

We spent the first 4 days in the Maasai Mara, one of the best places in the world for safari, and it was truly amazing. I saw every animal they had there apart from a rhino - which is extremly rare. We also took a hot air balloon which was amazing too, seeing all the wildlife from the sky was so cool! Because it was migration season there - mainly for the wildebeest and zebra we saw wildebeest in their tens of thousands and thousands of zebra. If you are reading and ever want to do a safari, I would really recommend to stay in the Maasai Mara. We stayed in a Serena Hotel which was really lovely, amazing views, food and accommodation, I couldn't ask for better in the middle of nowhere. The hotel had a nice pool for when you wanted to sunbathe and relax and it was really lovely.
On to some photos...

All the animals and the views were amazing. We then headed to Amboseli and stayed in a beautiful hotel for two nights, then to Tsavo East and West - it was beautiful, some of the most amazing views I'd seen in my life.

After we'd finished our safari, we headed to the coast for 3 days. We stayed in a private house on the beach which was an experience for sure - it was lovely; the beach had no-one on it, white sands and clear blue water. We went to Diane beach for some shopping and lunch, we swam and sun-bathed at the house, it was really nice to relax. Mombassa, however, the town near was not as nice - it was quite daunting as there were SO many people and it was so busy, however it was just an amazing experience.

To see how all these people lived, for me was amazing. A lot of them without running water and a bed still seemed like the happiest people in the world - proving how lucky we all are.

Have any of you been to Africa or been on a safari?
What did you think?

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my holiday, I enjoyed writing it!
Thank-you so much for reading :)

Maybelline the Falsies - Worth the hype?

Hello lovely readers!

Not too long ago I made a purchase in superdrug and bought maybelline the falsies mascara, after hearing lots and lots of good things about it.

However.. For me, it didn't work wonders I was expecting, I found it quite gloopy and sticky, especially on the wand, making it difficult to apply. Saying that, when I did manage to carefully apply it being able to seperate my lashes I did like the finish it gave.

The mascara itself I did like, because although I'm not much of a fan of the wand, when it was applied I found it didn't harden the lashes which I liked, however it wasn't smudge proof.

I wasn't a fan of the wand because I found it was quite a slodgy formula so it was hard to apply, especially as I have long lashes, it just made them stick together, creating no particular volume unless I carefully seperated the lashes - then creating some volume and a nice finish. However, I can see how some people would like the wand if your more keen on a more moist finish or if you have smaller lashes.

So, although I did like the finish the mascara gave, it was a bit too gloopy for me, and I wouldn't say it was smudgeproof.

Have you tried Maybelline the falsies?
What did you think of it?

Thank-You for reading!

Sleek Palettes | Review

Hellloo!
Today I thought I'd do a review on the sleek 'blush by 3' palette in Lace and the sleek 'Face Form' palette in Light.

I love sleek make-up - I think it's really good value for the products, which are always good quality and never fail to impress me. My favourite sleek products are the blushes, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on these two palettes.

This palette is a perfect face contour palette - it has a bronzer, highlighter and blush, and it's really compact so perfect for carrying around. I love the packaging - just simple but it's really thin and it is matte.
I didn't swatch the bronzer but it is matte and has a perfect finish on contouring your cheek bones - it creates a really nice shadow.

The highlighter is perfect for the tops of your cheek bones if your going for a more natural look - it is just a pale shimmer but it looks so pretty on. Or if you want a more dramatic look, you can put this underneath the brow bone for a perfect smokey eye finish - it looks gorgeous.

This coral/rose gold shimmery blush looks really bright in the pan but on it is gorgeous - I love this colour and think it is really summery. The shimmer I have to say does look more impressive in the pan - it doesn't all come out on your cheeks - I think it is the least pigmented in the palette, but the colour still comes out looking glowing and pretty on the cheeks.

I would definitely  recommend this palette - at £9.99 for three such good quality products I think it's a really good buy, I get a lot of wear out of it.

The second palette is one of my favourites - 'Blush By 3' in Lace.

The palette has 3 very bright colours in it - an orange, shimmery rose gold coral colour and a bright pink. These colours are all perfect for summer and are all very pigmented, again I love the packaging and the palette is very compact with a mirror making it great for travelling.

THe first colour is this bright orange - this is probably my least favourite only becasue its the one i wear the least as it doesn't really go too well with my pale skin, however with a tan I think it would look pretty on.

Secondly, my favourite colour - this coral colour with rose gold shimmer - it's so pretty in the pan and on the cheeks - I love it! What I love about this is how nicely the glitter picks up on the skin, as you can see from the swatch the shimmer comes out perfectly, making the colour on the cheeks look really pretty. Super pigmented and looks nice on all skin.

The last colour in the palette is this bright pink, I really like this as it doesn't have shimmer in it, making it really easy to apply (the smallest amount goes a long way) but you do have to blend this in well, it looks gorgeous on the apples of the cheeks with a bright lipstick.

Hope you enjoyed reading my review and it was helpful!
Have you ever tried any sleek products or these palettes? What did you think?

Thank-You for reading!

Current Love | Topshop Jewellery

Hello lovelies,

Recently I've been loving topshop jewellery - They have some really nice pieces in, I recently bought a few things, and got some for my birthday, quite a short post, but hope you enjoy it and see something you like.

I picked up this necklace in the sale for £5.50 recently which I thought was quite good. I'm loving rose gold at the moment, and I do love sparkles, so fell in love with this. I think it's really pretty and can really put together an outfit.

I recieved these earrings as a birthday present from a friend along with a necklace, at first I was a bit apprehensive about wearing them as I have tiny ears - they are literally dwarf size!! But they actually look really nice on, with my hair down I really like wearing them along with the necklace she bought me, I think they're really cool!

I also picked up this rose gold bracelet which I thought was really cool, I think it looks really nice with a simple tshirt or blouse but I really liked it!

Finally, this is my favourite piece - a necklace from my friend for my birthday. I LOVE this, I think it's really really cool and looks really nice with a baggy white t-shirt and disco pants or high waisted shorts, I love the flowers on it and just think it's really cool!

I hope you enjoyed reading about some of the jewelry I've been loving from topshop!
Have you looked at topshop jewellery recently? Did you see anything you liked?

Thank-You for reading!
