Top tips for clearer skin

Hey guys!

I can't believe summer's already over and everyone's gone back to school!
It went so quickly! Anyway today I thought seeing as we've all gone back to school.. i.e. more stress, less sleep haha.. I thought I would share my tips for clearer skin.

I'm quite lucky that I don't have acne prone skin, and for the most part my skin is very clear. However I do try my best to look after it, so here are some tips that I use for myself to help my skin be happy :)

1. Go to sleep! By this I mean your skin will thank you for sleep; I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep at night when I'm at school, usually nine! And make sure you get lots of rest at the weekend. This will help your skin and also make sure you're not tired for your school day and work.

2. Drink plenty! For me this is easy - I don't drink much other than water, hot chocolate and milkshake! I think drinking lots of water is vital for your skin, it will help it to be nourished and moisturised.

3. Invest in a nice cleanser - whenever you can I would advise to stay clear of face wipes as they are rough and just aren't doing your skin many favours. Investing in a cleanser which will last you and definitely help your skin to stay fresh and clearer. I'd also definitely recommend moisturising even if you have oily skin - there are SO many nice cleansers/moisturisers out there ranging from all sorts of prices - there's sure to be something whatever budget you're on.

4. Take the healthier option - so I'm not really the best example of this! But when you can, sometimes it's better to take the healthier option, of course sometimes you'll want that chocolate bar or biscuit (well I know I do!) but sometimes take the apple, or swap your white bread for brown. If you have acne prone skin or get regular spots and blemishes this is sure to be of some help.

5. Last of all, always try to get fresh air/exercise - I personally really don't like exercising inside but that's just my preference; I think doing some exercise outside and giving your skin a breather is really good.. the fresh air will always be good for you and be a friend to clear up your skin.

I hope you find some of this helpful!

  1. Thank you for these tips! I hate break outs, so I try to do anything I can to prevent them.
